        Clinical Experience.

I have gained clinical experience as a counselor in the following settings:

        • I am currently a counselor-in-residence, pursuing licensure as a professional counselor at a non-profit healthcare system.  My current duties include providing individual, family, and group counseling for children, adolescents, adults, and families as part of a multidisciplinary team in an acute psychiatric unit for individuals with suicidal/homicidal ideation and/or severe emotional disturbance.  During my residency, I have developed a modified Skills Training program based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy.  I also assist with oversight and supervision of master's-level counseling interns.
        • Prior clinical experiences have included: counseling intern at a private, non-profit agency, where I provided individual, group, and couples therapy under supervision; telephone counselor at a crisis hotline;  behavior specialist in a school for children with severe disabilities, including autism; direct care provider for a respite agency, working with an adolescent with severe disabilities; and volunteer at an inner-city afterschool program, working with youth from disadvantaged backgrounds.
