Welcome to the E-portolio of Dr. Thom Field!
In this e-portfolio, you will find representations of my teaching, supervision, and counseling philosophies, alongside my professional interests and scholarship, test preparation services, and mental status exam training. I currently work as a full-time faculty member and Program Director of the Counseling program at Oregon State University. I was formerly a faculty member at Boston University School of Medicine. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling and Supervision from James Madison University. I am licensed as a counselor in five states (Massachusetts, Oregon, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington). I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) by the Center for Credentialing & Education. I have worked with clients since 2006 in a variety of settings, including outpatient private practice, inpatient psychiatric units, community agencies, and school settings. I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, grief and loss, self-esteem, and affective/ sexual identity, including clients who identify as LGBTGEQIAP+.
I currently see clients at my private practice in Beaverton, Oregon, with both in-person and telehealth appointments available.
